Who’s Erica, You Ask?

She’s the one over there 👉🏻 with the pink hair (sometimes). But if who we are is defined by what we do, here’s what I’m generally up to these days:

The Texas State University logo featuring a star and bold text.

Graduate School

Earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in the Communication Design program, within the School of Art & Design, at Texas State University in beautiful San Marcos.

A graphic design featuring a windmill with overlayed text, a red bird with wings spread, and a background with trees, water, and colorful abstract effects.

Graduate Thesis Research:
Operation Diversify

Scholarly and Applied Research to develop my thesis topic: Operation Diversify: The Power & Potential of Democratizing Design — Adapting HCD Methods for At-risk Small Producers in the Texas Hillcountry to Help Them Diversify Their Farming & Ranching Businesses

Logo for Lazy S Ranch featuring a red Texas map with a white spiral and cowboy hat, and the words 'Lazy S Ranch 1880' around it.

Lazy S Ranch

Helpin’ ma paw manage our 150-year-old cattle ranch in Menard County, Texas settled by my great-great-greats. It’s 1800 acres of pure magic, and where our family raises dorper sheep, boer goats, and black angus cows.

Turquoise blue water with visible ripples and reflections.

A Few of My Favorite Things

I won’t shut up about my two dogs (Bowie, a huge 100lb Chocolate Lab & Queenie, a tiny 8lb wirehair dachshund), travel, traveling to scuba dive, traveling to eat & see art, kitchen experiments, painting & drawing, camping, hiking, BBQ, coffee, listening to music in tiny dives, skulls n bones, and all the glittery stuff.

Dreaming about my last dive trip to Thailand where I had some neat encounters with a banded sea krait and a curious puffer fish!
